On My Block
On My Block, while a comedy-drama, is also very serious at times. Four bright and street-smart kids, Monse, Ruby, Cesar, and Jamal, go through the pain and newness of highschool in their rough and dangerous city. They deal with gangs, violence, robbery, money laundering, and death.
The Fosters
The Fosters are a family of five children, four adopted and one biological, raised by a lesbian couple, Lena and Stef, a vice principal and a cop. Their family is a little complicated if nothing else. Brandon Foster is Stef’s biological son from her previous marriage to her ex-husband and her current patrol partner. The twins, Jesus and Mariana were adopted at a young age from their birth mother who has a drug addiction and their birth father who is on the sex offender registry. The couple then takes in Callie and Jude whos birth dad’s are in their lives to varying degrees.
Dynasty

This updated reboot of the original soap opera follows the Carrington family business or as they like to call it, their “family dynasty.” The show has surprises in every episode and certainly leaves you wanting more. You may recognize actress Elizabeth Gillies as the lead character, Fallon Carrington, from her role in “Victorious” playing Jade West.
